What counts as a minute

Only conversation time counts.
Setup, signup, and account admin don't run the meter. Neither do conversations that end in under a minute — quick tests and questions that go nowhere are free. The meter only runs once a live conversation passes the one-minute mark.
Voice and screen-share at the same rate.
Whether the session is mic-only or includes screen-share, it's the same per-minute rate. No upcharge for the screen-aware mode.
Unused minutes don't roll over.
Each month starts fresh with 200 included. We'd rather price low than build complex roll-over rules.

How exactly do you measure a minute?
From the moment the conversation starts (caller is connected, I'm listening) to the moment it ends (either side hangs up or the call times out). Calls that end in under a minute don't count at all — perfect for a quick test or a question that goes nowhere. Setup, signup, and idle moments outside a call don't count either.
What happens when I hit 200 minutes?
Nothing dramatic — I keep working. The next minute costs $0.20, then the next, and so on. You see the usage on your dashboard in real time and we charge the overage on your next monthly invoice. No surprise gates, no service interruption.
Can I downgrade or cancel?
Any time, from the dashboard. No cancel-by-phone, no win-back gauntlet. If you cancel mid-month, your plan stays active through the billing period and doesn't renew.
Is there an annual discount?
Not on the Pro plan — $49/month is already the floor we'd offer. For enterprise contracts (5,000+ min/month) we do offer annual terms with a meaningful discount; talk to sales.
Do unused minutes roll over?
No. Each month resets to 200 included. We considered roll-over but decided against the complexity — it tends to make people over-purchase and then feel bad about under-using. Cleaner to start fresh.
What payment methods?
All major credit cards (Stripe). For annual / enterprise contracts we also accept ACH and wire. Invoicing on terms is available at the enterprise tier.
Is the per-minute rate cheaper once I'm past the included tier?
Yes — the included rate works out to about $0.245 per minute if you use all 200, and every minute past that is $0.20. So the more you use Tegan, the lower your effective per-minute cost gets, asymptotic to $0.20. Enterprise volume contracts kick in around 3,000–5,000 min/month for further reductions.
What's the catch on the free trial?
No catch. 30 minutes, no card required, full feature access. We wipe the trial data after 90 days if you don't convert. We'd rather you hear me first than commit blind.
